Tonya Kuper

Last night, I got to hang out with Tonya Kuper and some fellow fans on Google Hangouts and it was absolutely amazing, fun and full of adorable! How much adorable? ‘Oh my Guardians of the galaxy’ adorable!

Tonya is the author of ‘Anomaly’ which was the very first book I had the opportunity to review. It is published by Entangled Teen, and you can find my review of the book here.

She is so amazing with her fans, great to interact with, and a big fangirl like me! From Star Wars, Star Trek, Sherlock – and so much more. I had the chance to ask some fun and serious questions and I am going to share some of those with you!

Who would you collaborate with if you had the chance?

Tonya told us she would love to work with people such as Pierce Brown, Veronica Roth and Suzzane Collins – Even if she didn’t get the chance to write with them, sitting down and “picking their brain” would be an amazing experience. She used the word ‘Flabberghasted’ when she mentioned these wonderful authors. 😉

What have you recently read or are currently reading?

Awaken‘ by Shannon Duffy – From Entangled Teen ( Cover reveal coming soon! )

Desiree Six (because she was born on a Friday) believes in everything the Protectorate stands for. She likes the safety and security of having her entire life planned out—her career, her mate, even the date of her death. She doesn’t even think to question when Darien, her childhood friend and neighbor, is convicted of murdering his parents. They had seemed like such a loving family. But if he was convicted, then he must have done it.

Then Darien shows up in her room late one night. He has escaped from the Terrorscape—a nightmare machine used to punish all Noncompliants—and needs Desiree’s help. What he tells her rocks her world to its core and makes her doubt everything she’s ever been told. With this new information, will Desiree and Darien be able to escape the Protectorate before it’s too late?

Tonya also mentioned her friend, Lydia Kang, who she is also reading a book from! I can’t recall which one she said she was reading, so I am posting info to both books below. They sound AMAZING and went on my TBR the moment I read about them.

Control‘ by Lydia Kang – From Dial Books for Young Readers

16718816

When a crash kills their father and leaves them orphaned, Zel knows she needs to protect her sister, Dyl. But before Zel has a plan, Dyl is taken by strangers using bizarre sensory weapons, and Zel finds herself in a safe house for teens who aren’t like any she’s ever seen before—teens who shouldn’t even exist. Using broken-down technology, her new friends’ peculiar gifts, and her own grit, Zel must find a way to get her sister back from the kidnappers who think a powerful secret is encoded in Dyl’s DNA.

A spiraling, intense, romantic story set in 2150—in a world of automatic cars, nightclubs with auditory ecstasy drugs, and guys with four arms—this is about the human genetic “mistakes” that society wants to forget, and the way that outcasts can turn out to be heroes.

Catalyst‘ by Lydia Kang – From Kathy Dawson Books (Penguin) Coming  March 24th 2015

17372146

In the past year Zel lost her father, the boy she loves, her safety, and any future she might have imagined for herself. Now she, her sister, and the band of genetic outcasts they’ve come to call their family are forced on the run when their safe house is attacked by men with neural guns. But on the way to a rumored haven in Chicago, Zel hears something–a whisper from Cy, the boy who traded himself for her sister’s safety. And when she veers off plan in order to search for him, what she finds is not what she expected. There’s more to their genetic mutations than they ever imagined…aspects that make them wonder if they might be accepted by the outside world after all.

If you could meet author, who would that person be?

Deceased – Jane Austin, author of Pride and Prejudice and Louisa May Alcott, author of ‘Little Women’.

Alive – James Howe, the author of ‘The Celery Stalks at Midnight’ and Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight.

Tonya said this about Stephanie: ‘She really helped me see anyone can write a book, but it’s up to the person writing to take it places.’ She spoke strongly of Stephanie, so I knew at that moment she had a powerful effect on her.

Who is your favorite bookish Boyfriend?

Let’s be realistic, who can choose just ONE bookish boyfriend? No one! Here are the 3 guys Tonya mentioned, not including who she would of chosen 6 years ago, Edward – From Twilight!

Tonya mentioned Damon from the Lux series – I have not read these but I have been eyeing them for some time. From how she described him, I could totally see me enjoying his character.

tumblr_m1ygbrIQls1rt5maho1_400Peeta – From The Hunger Games.  I mean come on, who DOESN’T like Peeta. ( Spoiler alert – I will frequently send photos of peeta/Josh to my best friend, because that’s what best friends do!

Four – From Divergent. Who doesn’t love Four?! He’s one bad ass guy.

Last but not least – We learned some AWESOME information about book two from Tonya! It’s set to release in October and the name of the book is – ENIGMA!

I can’t wait to read this book, I have been waiting and waiting and waiting!

Hanging out with Tonya was a blast, and I look forward to it again soon! I will post the links below on how to contact her – Pop on over on Twitter and say hey!
