October Book Haul!

The month is coming to end, November is getting close, which means I am going to be posting my very first Book Haul and TBR! The Book Outlet and Dartmouth Book Exchange were good to me this month!

I bought 8 books this month, that I am REALLY looking forward to reading them all. Four of these books came from my Local Independent Bookstore, the Dartmouth Book Exchange, which I wrote a blog post/review about. You can see that post here. The other four books are from the Book Outlet, which is one of my go to places to buy books at an AMAZING price.

October Book Haul

So much yellow in this haul! I love it!

The first four books on the top, are the books I purchased from the Book Outlet! I got them at some amazing prices as mentioned, and they come with a book mark, which is also a coupon! I love getting coupons.

Book Outlet Books:
Tender Morsels – by Margo Lanagan
The Winners Curse – ( The Winners Trilogy #1 ) – by Marie Rutkoski
Infinity – ( Chronicles of Nick #1 ) – by Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Beginning of Everything – by Robyn Schneider

‘Tender Morsels’ stuck out to me for some reason. I can’t put my finger on it, but when I saw it, and read the blurb, I knew I had to read it.  ‘The Winners Curse’ seems to be popular around the book lovers I follow on Instagram, so I took that as a recommendation to buy, and ‘The Beginning of Everything’ was recommended by a Youtuber I watch, in a video a while back. ( Missglamorazzi ) I picked up the beginning of the Nick chronicles in hopes it will be something my daughter and I can enjoy together!

The next four books are from my trip to the book store. Three of these were books I have been wanting a while, and the fourth is one I grabbed, knowing the author is amazing, and the cover was so perfect.

Dartmouth Book Exchange:
Leviathan – by Scott Westerfeld
Catching Fire – ( The Hunger Games #2 ) – Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay – ( The Hunger Games #3 ) – Suzanne Collins
The Casual Vacancy – J.K Rowling

I LOVE Steam punk, so Scott Westerfelds amazing cover yanked me in, and I HAD to have it! ( Not to mention he is a fantastic author whom I enjoy greatly. ) I did not own any of the Hunger Games books, so when I saw they had these two copies in hard cover, I scooped them up. ( $8 Each) and of course, I needed The Casual Vacancy. J.K Rowling is perfect. The new trade paper back for this book is out, but I always loved the bright yellow dust cover. It’s so beautiful! So, I jumped at the opportunity to scoop it up.

My TBR for next month includes ‘Ready Player One‘, ‘Talon‘ and ‘Tender Morsels’. Both ‘Ready Player One’ and ‘Talon’ are on their way to me right now from Chapters/Indigo. We’re reading RPO for my book club in November.

Some reviews coming up on the blog include ‘The Road‘ by Cormac McCarthy, ‘Eleanor and park‘ by Rainbow Rowell, and a special post about when I met Peter S Beagle earlier this year. I also started my collection of Penguin English Library books, and I am looking forward to snapping photos of them! They are gorgeous! Plus, I get to relive some old favorites of mine from childhood. Lots of exciting things are coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Finding the right reviewers for non-traditional books is hard.

I am a Nova Scotia author of dark, si-fi thrillers. If you go to my webpage and like what you see, I am willing to send you free signed copies in exchange for your honest reviews.

Note: some scenes in my books (while moving) are graphic and not for the faint at heart.
