Waiting on Wednesday #9

This Waiting on Wednesday is a little different from the others. This WoW features a nonfiction book, and I can't wait to get my hands all over it. My husband and I are HUGE fans of Watsky. If you don't know who Watsky is, he is an amazing spoken word poet, rapper and author that I was introduced to a while ago. He happens to be one of the VERY few rappers I enjoy, and he happens to be one of the most listened to artists on my Google Play. When I found out he was releasing a book, I hopped on the computer and preordered it the same day. He's one of those artists I love so much, that...

Waiting on Wednesday #8

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post that allows book bloggers to share books we're waiting for- Hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. I've said it before, and I will say it a million times down the road. I love YA books that deal with mental health. I wish when I was younger that there had been more books about the subject. I feel it would have made things so much easier to handle situations when I got older. It would have also helped me understand my loved who are struggling as well. Now as I battle and try to be strong against my own mental health, I've found myself loving books about any topic related to mental health. It makes...

Waiting on Wednesday #7

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly post that allows book bloggers to share books we're waiting for- Hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. I just learned about this week's book a few days ago, and after looking at it on Goodreads, I know it's one I want to read when it comes out. This is one of the reasons I love following so many bloggers on Twitter; I find books that I didn't know about!   And I Darken by Kiersten White Expected publication: July 7th 2016 by Corgi Childrens   Goodreads summary:  No one expects a princess to be brutal. And Lada Dragwyla likes it that way. Ever since she and her brother were abandoned by their father to be raised in the Ottoman sultan’s courts, Lada has...

Waiting on Wednesday #6

Another week, another Wednesday!    In the past weeks, I have read a lot of books from Harlequin Teen. It's a publisher I didn't dive into much before and I want to put my feet into in and check out some more titles that have been released but that are also releasing in the next few months. I've seen a few people mention this book and it's caught my attention over the past week or two. It sounds intriguing and I know I am going to be picking up a copy at the end of the month. I really love the cover as well!     Heir to the Sky by Amanda Sun Expected publication: April 26th 2016 by Harlequin TEEN   What are you waiting on this Wednesday?...

Waiting on Wednesday #5

It's been a few weeks since I have done a WOW and it feels good to be getting back on track after a few weeks of being busy. This week, my WOW is one that deals with mental health. I struggle with my mental health on a daily basis, and the diagnosis I was given. I also struggle with depression. I love to come across books that share with the world the struggles people deal with every day. I personally feel like it's something that we need more of. Books that touch on a subject that people tend to steer away from, or they don't know enough about. When I learned about this book, I preordered it the same day. This...

Waiting on Wednesday #4

I am a huge fan of graphic novels. I love diving into something new, never knowing what to expect. When I go to my favorite comic book store in Halifax, I know that the people working are going to recommend something I am going to love.  I am totally going to toss them a shout out here - Giant Robot Comics! I love them so much and they always make my husband and I feel welcome when we walk in. It's a great thing where I struggle with my anxiety. I will also mention that I am not being paid for this by any means or sponsored. It's just a great place to feel welcome and immerse yourself in your fandoms...

Waiting on Wednesday #3

Choosing my Waiting on Wednesday book was easy this week. A few days ago I finished reading A Darker Shade of Magic, and it was one of the best fantasy books I have read in a long time. It made me want to drop everything in life and just binge read the entire book. Sadly, life got in the way and I didn't finish it in one sitting. I am going to be writing a review about it in the next day or so, so you'll be seeing that soon. I'll add a link when it's up. What does have to do with Waiting on Wednesday? Well, my book for the week is the second book in the series, A Gathering...
