Waiting on Wednesday #1

GUYS! It's my first WWW, and I can't wait to do more of these in the future! I'm so excited and happy with how this year has started with blogging! It's great to be back doing something I enjoy. I love reading what other people are looking forward to because I always end up finding new books through these posts. Plus, it's a great way to get to know the many different genres that my friends love to read. Enough talking, let's take a look at what I am waiting on this fine Wednesday!     Walk The Edge from the wonderful Katie McGarry! I am not normally a fan of books with a lot of romance, but I found myself loving Nowhere But Here...

Passenger

Passenger is one of the first books I read this year and oh man. My year of reading is off to an amazing start. Why? PIRATES AND TIME TRAVEL! A great combination! I took my time while reading this lovely. Not because I couldn't get into the book, but because I wanted to savor every wonderful moment of it. It was beautifully written, and it didn't skimp on the details. I could picture most of the book, in my mind. One of the parts that stuck out the most to me, and has stuck with me, is that gorgeous dress that was described in the very beginning. I could picture it, and I thought about it often while reading. I need the...

Mental Health Stigma

Yesterday,  I found myself telling the hospital about my mental health disorder for the very first time while visiting. Yesterday, I had my mental health thrown in my face. Yesterday, I was put in a locked down psych room for no reason.     If you follow me on Twitter, you might have noticed I took a trip into the emergency room yesterday. I hurt my knee one day walking up the stairs, and yesterday the pain became unbearable. My husband had an appointment in Truro, NS so we decided it would be best that he dropped me off to the emergency room to finally have it looked at.  It's pretty hard to adult when you can barely walk. When he dropped me off, I was...

Top Ten Tuesday #2 – January 18, 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by the wonderful human beings over at The Broke and the Bookish! For those who didn't see my last Top Ten Tuesday, I had a newbie moment. I knew people did Top Ten Tuesday but for some reason, I thought people we're making up the topics on their own. I couldn't have been more wrong! I am super stoked to be on the right track for this now, and following along with the topics posted on the Broke and Bookish blog. I am constantly adding books to my TBR pile, as well as on Goodreads. If I see a bunch of people absolutely LOVING a book on Twitter or a good friend really digging one, I...

A court of Thorns and Roses

This post is about to get very personal, and very real. If depression is a trigger for you, I would avoid reading this. I wanted to write a review about A Court of Thorns and Roses but I feel that writing this is going to get my point across so much better. The cover for A Court of Mist and Fury came out last week, and I can't explain just how freaking excited I am for the second book in this series. Look at how awesome the cover is!     I have been wanting to write this post for a long time, so I felt today would be a good day to sit down and touch on a not-so-fun topic. I can't really explain...

Ms Marvel

I want to reach up, grab all of the stars in the galaxy and throw ALL THE STARS at Goodreads. Why might you ask? Because THAT, my dear reader, is how much I absolutely love Ms. Marvel. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. I could keep rambling on with the word love, but let's get down to the reasons why I love it so much.   I own all 4 volumes currently out for Ms. Marvel, and I started off my 2016 year by finishing all of them. So, what draws me in the most about this comic from Marvel. Diversity. 100% the amount of diversity and the subjects they touch on during the events that happen in these 4 volumes. Kamala Khan is...

Top Ten Tuesday #1- January 12th, 2016

This is going to be my VERY FIRST Top Ten Tuesday and I am super excited to be doing it! ( Let's face it, I am super excited in general to be back and blogging! ) Since the blog came back up and running at the beginning of the month, I haven't had a chance to share the books I am most looking forward to this year, so here they are. The Top Ten books I am looking forward to in 2016, In no particular order.   **Just a quick note - I didn't learn that TTT comes from The Broke and The Bookish until today when I did this. *Insert noob moment* I am glad I found out! Next week I will...

The Promise of Amazing

Guys. This book was such a let down for me. One of the biggest ones I've had. Ever.  I had been anticipating it, and admiring the cover for quite some time. I'm really disappointed.   The book didn't pick up for me until about page 284. I found myself reading it but finding reasons often to put it down. It couldn't hold my attention like I hoped it would. It took me almost DOUBLE the amount of time it should have taken to finish. It was an easy read, it was just lacking. By the point I hit the page it got exciting, I was so close to the end that I didn't want to stop reading. It is one of the...

Bookishly Ever After

'I opened my eyes, and here was Lexie again in the wings, staring at Dev like he was an advanced reader copy of the last book in a series.' I was approved to review this book from NetGalley for an honest review. There is one word to describe this book. Adorable. Absolutely, completely adorable. A girl who is in love with books as much as myself and others are - It's perfect! Pheobe was the perfect example of a book lover. Shy, quiet, and she falls in love with fictional characters shamelessly. ( Let's face it, MOST of us fall in love with the hero, bad boy, innocent guys in the books. *Cough* Peeta *Cough* ) She brings books with her everywhere...
